Breast augmentation is done through a small incision that is placed, depending on the anatomy of the patient and the preferences of your surgeon, around the areola, in the groove under the chest or in the armpit.
Through this incision the breast tissue is lifted, a pocket is created and the prosthesis is placed directly under the breast tissue or under the pectoral muscle. If necessary, drainage tubes are placed to be removed the next day and a dressing or bandage over the breasts.
The procedure lasts between 1 and 2 hours. The bandage or dressings will be removed the next day, being replaced by a special bra, which must be worn in the manner indicated by your surgeon. Points are removed between 5 and 7 days. After a breast augmentation you can return to work in a few days, and depending on the activity you do, you will avoid lifting objects for 1-2 weeks.
